Lara Schmidt (born October 13, 1999 in Nuremberg ) is a German tennis player .

Career

Schmidt started playing tennis at the age of eight and her preferred playing surface is the hard court. So far she has mainly played tournaments on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has not yet won a title.

Schmidt made her debut on the WTA Tour in 2016 when she received a wildcard for qualifying for the Nuremberg Insurance Cup 2016 . But she was already defeated in the first round against Tatjana Maria with 1: 6 and 0: 6. Also in 2017 she received a wildcard for qualification in Nuremberg , but failed again against Amra Sadikovic with 3: 6 and 4: 6 in the first round.

She joined in 2017 also in the junior competitions in singles and doubles of the French Open and Wimbledon , but was only in junior single of the French Open to win in the first round against Diane Parry achieve, providing them with 6: 6: 3 and 7 5 suggested .
