Amra Sadikovic (born May 6, 1989 in Prilep , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Swiss tennis player of Macedonian origin.

Career

Amra Sadikovic lives in Birr and has had a Swiss passport since 2007. She started playing tennis at the age of nine. She won eight singles and 15 doubles titles at the ITF Women's Circuit .

Sadikovic won his first title in June 2008 at the $ 10,000 tournament in Davos . In 2011 she won a $ 50,000 tournament in Toronto as a qualifier .

In April 2009 she played for Switzerland in the Fed Cup for the first time when it came to Australia to remain in the world group. She clearly lost her first game against Samantha Stosur in straight sets. In the meantime, her Fed Cup record shows seven wins and six defeats.

The native Macedonian had to take an 18-month break due to burnout syndrome .

In May 2014, she announced her immediate resignation. However, she resumed her competitive career in mid-2015.

At Wimbledon , she was able to qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in 2016; against number one, Serena Williams, she had to admit defeat in the first round with 2: 6 and 4: 6.

Sadikovic played her last professional tournament in October 2018 and has not been in the world rankings since September 2019.
