The FAC-Platz , formerly Leopold-Stroh-Stadion and Job Consulting Arena , is an Austrian football stadium in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf with the address Hopfengasse 8. It was the home of the eight-time Austrian champions Admira and is now the Floridsdorfer AC , the 2015/16 in the First League , the second highest Austrian league.

history

In August 1933, Admira moved from Deublergasse ("Mittlere Pollackwies'n") to the former Vorwärts XXI-Platz in Hopfengasse. In contrast to Deublergasse, this newly built, extensive sports facility now had everything a large sports club needed: a running track, training field, boxing ring and tennis courts completed one of the most beautiful soccer fields in Vienna. At that time the stadium held around 15,000 seats.

From July 1944 to April 1945 there was a satellite camp of the Mauthausen concentration camp at Hopfengasse 8 . At that time, barracks for around 2,000 concentration camp prisoners and forced laborers stood on today's FAC premises.

After Admira moved to Südstadt in 1966, the FAC took over the place. In 1987, Admira-Platz was renamed to Leopold-Stroh-Stadion in honor of the former FAC player Leopold Stroh (1917–1985), who was also a great patron and patron of Austria for decades . In 1994 a grandstand for around 500 spectators was built and in 2002 a VIP club area was set up in it.

The FAC-Platz had a capacity of around 3,000 spectators in the 2014/15 season . During this season, an average of 1,235 people attended the games of the Floridsdorf Athletic Sports Club in the First League. Investments of 400,000 euros have been announced for summer 2015 [obsolete] . Two new grandstands are planned: A covered tubular steel grandstand behind the gate near Hopfengasse offers seats for 360 visitors. The guest sector will have a covered standing room for a total of 300 visitors. In addition, the floodlight is amplified vertically to 800 lux.

In March 2018 the stadium was renamed the Job Consulting Arena , and in the following season 2018/19 it was given the name FAC-Platz .
