The Lebanese national basketball team represents Lebanon at international basketball matches for men.
history
The Lebanese national team made its debut at the European Basketball Championships in 1949 . In the absence of other continental championships, the European championship was held openly at that time, so that teams from Africa and Asia could also take part. After Lebanon participated again in the EM in 1953, the team could not take part in any tournaments for a long time. After the end of the civil war in Lebanon, the national team was brought back to life and was able to qualify for the world championships three times in a row. Due to differences between the Lebanese government and the Lebanese Association, Lebanon's membership in FIBA was suspended for an indefinite period in July 2013 and the national team was excluded from all competitions.
successes
Lebanon's greatest successes are winning the silver medals at the Asian Basketball Championships in 2001 in Shanghai (China), in 2005 in Doha (Qatar) and in 2007 in Tokushima (Japan).
