The song was written by Marcus Brosch and Katharina Löwel (Kitty Kat). The song was mixed and produced by Roland Spremberg . The piece was released under the music labels Island Records and Polydor and distributed through Universal Music Publishing . An official cover picture does not exist.
Publication and promotion
The first release of Lieber so took place on November 22, 2013 on Catterfeld's sixth studio album of the same name, Lieber so . An official single has not been released until today. On May 15, 2015, a “re-version” of the album Lieber so was released . There is also a new acoustic version of the song on it.
In order to promote the album, Lieber performed live on the NDR Talk Show . The piece only gained popularity in May 2015, when Catterfeld sang the song on their theme evening in the second season of Sing mein Song - Das Tauschkonzert .
Bundesvision Song Contest 2015
In order to advertise the song and himself, Catterfeld took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2015 for her state of Thuringia . She took third place with 114 points and had to admit defeat to Mark Forster with his winning title Bauch und Kopf and the Donots with Dann ohne mich . From her home in Thuringia she got the highest score of the evening with 12 points. She got at least two points from all other federal states . In the run-up to the performances, small clips were shown in which Stefan Raab and the Heavytones met the performers in a rehearsal room and held a short jam session . All of them played an acoustic version of Alicia Keys hit Fallin ' , which Catterfeld rewrote in German. Then Raab wanted to play another song with her that had a special impact on her. But when she couldn't think of anything, Raab played a medley with “kölsche Lieder”. For Thuringia, this was the best placement since Clueso took second place with Not a centimeter in 2008 .

In order to promote the “re-version” of the album, among other things, a music video for the acoustic version of Lieber was shot at Hafenklang in Hamburg . The video premiered on YouTube on May 20, 2015 . In addition to Lieber so , videos were also published on the acoustic versions of Pendel , Great Cinema and No Looking Back . The total length of the video is 3:42 minutes. To date, the video has over 13.1 million views on YouTube (as of June 2019).

The German-language online magazine laut.de rated the studio album negatively with the words: "In terms of content, the numerous ghostwriters involved in the background commute back and forth between kitsch and art as usual , while the person responsible in the foreground disappears into defined harmonic worlds." But the song Lieber so described as one of the few "sublime moments" on the album.

In Dear Sun is not an official single release. The song reached the charts only because of the high number of individual downloads after Catterfeld's appearance on Sing my song - The Exchange Concert .
Lieber so reached position 23 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of five weeks. In Austria the song reached position 32 in two chart weeks. In Switzerland, the song reached position 44 in the charts in two chart weeks. For Catterfeld as an interpreter this is already the 16th chart success in Germany, as well as the tenth in Austria and the ninth in Switzerland.
