Lil Tecca (born August 26, 2002 in New York ; real name Tyler-Justin Sharpe ) is an American rapper and singer .

life and career

Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002 and grew up in Springfield Gardens, Queens, New York . He later moved with his parents to Hempstead (Five Towns), Long Island , where he still lives today. He is of Jamaican descent.

Sharpe originally pursued a professional NBA career. However, during his school days he lost interest and instead sought a music career. In June 2017 he released the song Tectri on Soundcloud together with Lil Gummybear , which was the first of his publications to receive attention. More singles followed, including Love Me , Did It Again and Molly Girl . The breakthrough came with the release of Ransom in May 2019. In just a few months, it reached over 100 million streaming views on Spotify and in August 2019 the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 . A little later the song also entered the German charts.

Sharpe is particularly characterized by his melodic rap style. His influences include Michael Jackson , Lil Wayne , Meek Mill , Eminem , Lil Durk and Speaker Knockerz.
