Linea d'ombra

Linea d'ombra is an Italian organizer of art exhibitions with an affiliated publisher. The company, founded in 1996 by the art historian Marco Goldin , has its headquarters in the Palazzo dei Forestieri in Treviso . The company's focus is on the organization and implementation of art exhibitions in cooperation with international museums. The venues are mostly historical palaces in various cities in northern Italy. The associated publishing house Linea d'ombra Libri publishes catalogs for the art exhibitions with the participation of Italian and international authors.

history

The art historian Marco Goldin could already look back on many years of experience as a curator of art exhibitions when he founded Linea d'ombra in 1996. Before he had mainly organized exhibitions on Italian artists of the 20th century, his own company Linea d'ombra was supposed to bring works by internationally acclaimed artists to Italy. Since the first exhibition in Treviso in 1998, other exhibitions have followed in Turin , Brescia , Codroipo , Rimini , San Marino , Genoa , Verona , Vicenza and Bologna . French painting of the second half of the 19th century was often the subject of exhibitions and museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston repeatedly loaned numerous major works from their collection. The company Linea d'ombra Libri , which is responsible for the publication of the exhibition catalogs, has been part of the company since 1999 . Linea d'ombra has repeatedly been able to attract well-known art historians for this.

Treviso

In Treviso, Linea d'ombra organized several exhibitions in the city palace Casa dei Carraresi together with the city of Treviso and the bank foundation Fondazione Cassamarca . The first exhibition Roberto Tassi ei pittori. Ottocento e Novecento in Europe. In 1998, Da Van Gogh a Bacon dedicated himself to the art historian Roberto Tassi and the painting of the 19th and 20th centuries from Vincent van Gogh to Francis Bacon . Turin

In the run-up to the 2006 Winter Olympics , the city of Turin and the Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano commissioned Linea d'ombra to organize an art exhibition. From 2004 to 2009, Linea d'ombra organized several exhibitions for the city of Brescia, all of which could be seen in the Museo di Santa Giulia . Codroipo

The Villa Manin near Udine , built in the 17th century, formed the framework for three exhibitions in the years 2009–2012, which were created in collaboration with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . Linea d'ombra organized exhibitions in Castel Sismondo for the city of Rimini and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio banking foundation . For the first exhibition at this location, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston loaned a selection of European paintings. Under the title Da Rembrandt a Gauguin a Picasso. L'incanto della pittura , visitors could see masterpieces from Rembrandt van Rijn to Paul Gauguin to Pablo Picasso . The second exhibition in Rimini took place in 2010–2011 and was entitled Parigi. In the small state of San Marino, not far from Rimini, Linea d'ombra has been organizing exhibitions together with the Fondazione San Marino Cassa di Risparmio SUMS, since 2010. The location of the exhibition is the headquarters of the Palazzo SUMS Foundation. 2010–2011, there was an overview exhibition with works by the French Impressionists under the title Monet, Cézanne, Renoir e altre storie di pittura in Francia . Vincenza and Verona

In collaboration with the Fondazione Cariverona and the cities of Vincenza and Verona, other exhibitions organized by Linea d'ombra have been taking place since 2012. In 2010-2011 there was the Mediterraneo show in the Palazzo Ducale . Da Courbet a Monet a Matisse with works of art from Gustave Courbet to Claude Monet to Henri Matisse that deal with the topic of the Mediterranean. Bologna

Since 2014 there has been a collaboration between Linea d'ombra and the banking foundation Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio to organize exhibitions in the Palazzo Fava in Bologna.
