Linea d'ombra
Linea d'ombra is an Italian organizer of art exhibitions with an affiliated publisher. The company, founded in 1996 by the art historian Marco Goldin , has its headquarters in the Palazzo dei Forestieri in Treviso . The company's focus is on the organization and implementation of art exhibitions in cooperation with international museums. The venues are mostly historical palaces in various cities in northern Italy. The associated publishing house Linea d'ombra Libri publishes catalogs for the art exhibitions with the participation of Italian and international authors.
history
The art historian Marco Goldin could already look back on many years of experience as a curator of art exhibitions when he founded Linea d'ombra in 1996. Before he had mainly organized exhibitions on Italian artists of the 20th century, his own company Linea d'ombra was supposed to bring works by internationally acclaimed artists to Italy. Since the first exhibition in Treviso in 1998, other exhibitions have followed in Turin , Brescia , Codroipo , Rimini , San Marino , Genoa , Verona , Vicenza and Bologna . French painting of the second half of the 19th century was often the subject of exhibitions and museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston repeatedly loaned numerous major works from their collection. The company Linea d'ombra Libri , which is responsible for the publication of the exhibition catalogs, has been part of the company since 1999 . Linea d'ombra has repeatedly been able to attract well-known art historians for this.

Treviso
In Treviso, Linea d'ombra organized several exhibitions in the city palace Casa dei Carraresi together with the city of Treviso and the bank foundation Fondazione Cassamarca . The first exhibition Roberto Tassi ei pittori. Ottocento e Novecento in Europe. In 1998, Da Van Gogh a Bacon dedicated himself to the art historian Roberto Tassi and the painting of the 19th and 20th centuries from Vincent van Gogh to Francis Bacon . In 1999 the exhibition Da Cézanne a Mondrian dealt with . Impressionismo, espressionismo, cubismo e il paesaggio nel nuovo secolo in Europe. 1878-1918 with landscape painting from Paul Cézanne to Piet Mondrian . There was also the exhibition La nascita dell'impressionismo in Treviso 2000–2001 about the beginnings of Impressionism . The Monet exhibition followed in 2001–2002 . I luoghi della pittura and 2002-2003 the Van Gogh show L'impressionismo e l'età di Van Gogh . For the time being, the last exhibition in Treviso was the show L'oro e l'azzurro, shown in 2003–2004 . I colori del Sud da Cézanne a Bonnard , which dealt with Mediterranean motifs in the works of Cézanne to Pierre Bonnard .
Turin
In the run-up to the 2006 Winter Olympics , the city of Turin and the Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano commissioned Linea d'ombra to organize an art exhibition. The show Gli impressionisti e la neve, shown in Palazzina della Promtrice delle Belle Arti from 2044–2005 . La Francia e l'Europa was dedicated to the theme of winter landscapes and showed works by various French impressionist artists.
Brescia
From 2004 to 2009, Linea d'ombra organized several exhibitions for the city of Brescia, all of which could be seen in the Museo di Santa Giulia . Initially, the title was Monet, la Senna, le ninfee - Tiziano e la pittura del Cinquecento a Venezia. Capolavori dal Louvre 2004–2005 the works of two artists opposite. In addition to a series of water lily paintings by Claude Monet, there were also a few paintings by Titian on loan from the Louvre . In the exhibition Gauguin-Van Gogh shown in 2005–2006 . L'avventura del colore nuovo contrasted the works of two artists with works by Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin . The exhibition, which also featured pictures by Jean-François Millet , consisted exclusively of loans from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The next exhibition in Brescia was titled Turner e gli impressionisti and showed 2006–2007 the influence of the English painter William Turner on impressionist artists. It followed in 2007–2008 with America! Storie di pittura dal Nuovo Mondo an overview of American painting. The Van Gogh exhibition concluded the exhibition in 2008–2009 . Codroipo
The Villa Manin near Udine , built in the 17th century, formed the framework for three exhibitions in the years 2009–2012, which were created in collaboration with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . It all started with the show L'Età di Courbet e Monet. La diffusione del realismo e dell'impressionismo nell'Europa centrale e orientale , which from 2009-2010 dealt with the paintings of Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet. Another overview show 2011–2012 was dedicated to the subject of expressionism in painting.
Rimini
Linea d'ombra organized exhibitions in Castel Sismondo for the city of Rimini and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio banking foundation . For the first exhibition at this location, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston loaned a selection of European paintings. Under the title Da Rembrandt a Gauguin a Picasso. L'incanto della pittura , visitors could see masterpieces from Rembrandt van Rijn to Paul Gauguin to Pablo Picasso . The second exhibition in Rimini took place in 2010–2011 and was entitled Parigi. Gli anni meravigliosi. Impressionismo contro Salon presents works by artists working in Paris from the end of the 19th century. The Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford (Connecticut) provided the works of art for the show Caravaggio e altri pittori del Seicento . The exhibition shown in 2010–2011 included paintings by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio and other 17th century painters. The last one was in 2012 with Da Vermeer a Kandinsky. Capolavori dai musei del mondo a Rimini an exhibition with loans from various museums that covered the period from the Baroque to the 20th century and advertised with names such as Jan Vermeer and Wassily Kandinsky .
San Marino
In the small state of San Marino, not far from Rimini, Linea d'ombra has been organizing exhibitions together with the Fondazione San Marino Cassa di Risparmio SUMS, since 2010. The location of the exhibition is the headquarters of the Palazzo SUMS Foundation. 2010–2011, there was an overview exhibition with works by the French Impressionists under the title Monet, Cézanne, Renoir e altre storie di pittura in Francia . The exhibition Da Hopper a Warhol followed in 2012 . Pittura Americana del XX secolo a San Marino with American painting of the 20th century from Edward Hopper to Andy Warhol .
Vincenza and Verona
In collaboration with the Fondazione Cariverona and the cities of Vincenza and Verona, other exhibitions organized by Linea d'ombra have been taking place since 2012. In Vincenza there was the exhibition Raffaello verso Picasso in 2012-2013 in the Basilica Palladiana , a Renaissance building by Andrea Palladio . Storie di sguardi, volti e figure with portraits of people from Raphael to Pablo Picasso . In 2013, at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, Da Botticelli a Matisse. Volti e figure showed an exhibition with a similar framework, with works by Sandro Botticelli and Henri Matisse forming the cornerstones. Verso Monet followed in the same location in 2013–2014 . Storia del paesaggio dal Seicento al Novecento , an exhibition on landscape painting from the 17th century to Claude Monet.
Genoa
In Genoa there has been a partnership between Linea d'ombra, the city of Genoa and the Fondazione Palazzo Ducale di Genova foundation since 2010 . In 2010-2011 there was the Mediterraneo show in the Palazzo Ducale . Da Courbet a Monet a Matisse with works of art from Gustave Courbet to Claude Monet to Henri Matisse that deal with the topic of the Mediterranean. In the same place, Van Gogh e il viaggio di Gauguin followed in 2011–2012 with works by Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin.
Bologna
Since 2014 there has been a collaboration between Linea d'ombra and the banking foundation Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio to organize exhibitions in the Palazzo Fava in Bologna. In the exhibition La ragazza con l'orecchino di perla, planned from February to May 2014 . Il mito della Golden Age. Da Vermeer a Rembrandt , masterpieces by Jan Vermeer, Rembrandt and other artists of the Dutch Golden Age from the holdings of the Mauritshuis in The Hague are on view.
