List of Members of the Salzburg State Parliament (1st Republic, 4th electoral term)
This list of members of the Salzburg state parliament (4th electoral period) lists all the members of the Salzburg state parliament in the 4th electoral period. The state parliament was constituted on May 19, 1932 after the state elections in 1932.
In the 1932 state elections, the Christian Social Party (CSP) won 12 of the total of 26 seats, with the CSP losing one of its previous seats. The Social Democratic Workers' Party of German Austria (SDAPDÖ) also lost two seats and only had eight members in the state parliament. The big winner of the election was the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), which won six seats straight away. In 1927 the NSDAP ran together with the Greater German Party (GDVP), with the two parties together achieving three seats. Like the GDVP, the Salzburger Landbund also failed to re-enter the state parliament.
The mandates of the NSDAP were declared dormant in the course of the party ban with the state constitutional law of June 30, 1933. As a result of the Austrian Civil War , the mandates of the SDAP were also declared to have expired by the ordinance of the federal government of February 16, 1934. Finally, with the State Constitutional Act of February 26, 1934, the state parliament transferred the right to legislate to the state government before the “Ständische Landtag” was constituted on November 22, 1934.
The state parliament elected the state government Rehrl III on May 27, 1932 .
Functions
Landtag President
Josef Hauthaler (CSP) took over the office of President of the State Parliament in the 4th electoral term . The function of First Deputy President of the State Parliament fell to the SDAPDÖ, which nominated Anton Neumayr for the office . With Franz Koweindl (NSDAP), for the first time a member of the NSDAP took over the office of second deputy president of the state parliament. The election of the three state parliament presidents took place on May 19, 1932. Hauthaler resigned from office on January 19, 1934, whereupon Johann Kirchner was elected as his successor. Before that, Koweindl had already lost his office on June 30, 1933 when the NSDAP was banned. Anton Neumayr suffered the same fate on February 16, 1934.
