from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of the members of the Salzburg state parliament 9th legislative period lists all members of the Salzburg state parliament in the 9th legislative period or 13th electoral period. The legislative period lasted from the constitution of the Landtag on May 16, 1984 to May 2, 1989. The constitution of the subsequent Landtag of the 10th legislative period took place on May 3, 1989.

In the 1984 state elections , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) recorded strong gains and for the first time since 1945 achieved an absolute majority in seats. For the ÖVP this meant winning two mandates, with which the ÖVP provided 19 of the 36 members of the state parliament. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) won 13 seats, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) four seats, with both parties losing one seat.

After the members of the state parliament had sworn in , the Haslauer III state government was elected on May 16, 1984 , succeeding the Haslauer II state government .

Functions

Landtag President

After the ÖVP's victory in the state elections in 1984, Hans Schmidinger (ÖVP) was re-elected President of the State Parliament. The previous second president of the state parliament, Johann Pitzler (SPÖ), continued to exercise his office. Only Walter Vogl (ÖVP) replaced Josef Hörl (ÖVP) as the new, third state parliament president. The election of the three presidents was carried out in the constituent session on May 16, 1984.
