This list of members of the Salzburg state parliament (5th legislative period) lists all the members of the Salzburg state parliament in the 5th legislative period or 9th electoral period. The legislative period lasted from the constitution of the Landtag on June 19, 1964 to May 13, 1969. The constitution of the subsequent Landtag of the 6th legislative period took place on May 14, 1969.
In the state elections in 1964 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) won 15 of the 32 seats and thus won one seat compared to the 1959 election. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) again won 13 seats, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) had to give up one seat and withdrew with four mandates in the state parliament.
After the members of the state parliament were sworn in, the Lechner II state government was elected in the constituent session on June 19, 1964 , succeeding the Lechner I state government .
Functions
Landtag President
In the 5th legislative period, Martin Saller (ÖVP) , who has been in office since 1963, initially assumed the office of President of the State Parliament . The newly elected SPÖ politician Hans Pexa (SPÖ) took over the function of First Deputy President of the State Parliament, while Hans Zyla (ÖVP) , who has also been in office since 1963, was elected to the position of Second Deputy President. The three state parliament presidents were elected at the constituent meeting on June 19, 1959.
After Martin Saller's death on July 28, 1965, Hans Zyla, who had previously been Deputy President of the State Parliament, was elected as the new President of the State Parliament on October 6, 1965. For him moved Josef Eisl the new Second Deputy President of the Landtag. After Eisl died on January 19, 1968, Anton Bonimaier was elected as the second deputy president of the state parliament.
