Michael Haslinger

Michael Haslinger (born August 26, 1906 in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer , † March 9, 1998 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and book expert. From 1952 to 1961 and from 1963 to 1964 he was a member of the Salzburg State Parliament , from 1954 to 1961 second Deputy President of the State Parliament and between 1961 and 1973 as State Councilor and Deputy Governor of the Salzburg State Government .

education and profession

Haslinger attended elementary school between 1912 and 1917 and then switched to school in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer between 1917 and 1920. In 1921 he joined the Austrian Federal Forests in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer and worked as a forest intern. He then graduated from the forest ranger school between 1923 and 1924 (near Ort in Gmunden , Upper Austria ) and passed the state examination as a ranger in 1924. Subsequently he was employed as a forester in Lofer and Zell am See from 1924 to 1938 . After the National Socialists came to power, he lost his job as a forester and worked as an accountant in the private sector from 1938 to 1942. Then he had to do his military service in the Second World War from 1942 to 1945.

After the end of World War II, Haslinger was head of the economic office at the Zell am See district administration in 1945 and passed exams as a sworn auditor and tax advisor in 1945 and 1952, respectively. As a result, he started his own business from 1945 as an independent accountant in Zell am See.

Haslinger was active as a Gaufführer in the Heimwehr in Pinzgau in the interwar period . After the Second World War he joined the Austrian People's Party and in 1946 became local party leader of the People's Party in Zell am See. From 1948 to 1961 he also took on the role of district chairman of the Austrian Economic Association in Pinzgau and represented the People's Party from 1945 to 1949 as a member of the community council of Zell am See. He then served as a city councilor from 1949 to 1952. Haslinger was sworn in as a member of the Salzburg state parliament on May 28, 1952, and was a member of it until April 16, 1961. In addition, during this period from December 11, 1954 to April 16, 1961, he was second deputy president of the state parliament. On April 17, 1961, he became a state councilor in the Salzburg state government and on April 3, 1963, he was promoted to deputy president of the state parliament. In this office he worked until July 11, 1973. During this time, he was a member of the state parliament from February 22, 1963 to June 29, 1964 and a member of this body for a few days in 1969.
