Josef Hauthaler

Josef Hauthaler (born March 13, 1890 in Wals-Siezenheim , † December 13, 1937 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CS / VF ) and owner of an inn in Viehausen . He was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 1919 to 1934 and its president from 1932 to 1934. He also worked from 1927 to 1932 as a member of the Federal Council and from 1934 to 1937 as a member of the Salzburg regional government .

education and profession

Hauthaler first attended elementary school in Siezenheim and then graduated from the agricultural school in Kleingmain from 1906 to 1907 . In 1914 he took over his parents' guest and farm business in Viehausen and ran it until his death.

Politics and functions

Hauthaler was sworn in as a member of the constituent state parliament on April 23, 1919 and was a member of the Salzburg state parliament until October 31, 1934. He also held the office of President of the Landtag in the Landtag from May 19, 1932 to January 19, 1934 and had previously also represented the Christian Social Party of Salzburg in the Federal Council between May 4, 1927 and May 27, 1932. On January 19, 1934, Hauthaler was elected to the provincial council of the Salzburg provincial government, an office he held until December 13, 1937 during the time of the corporate state.

Within the party, he was the deputy regional party leader of the Salzburg Christian Socialist Party between 1922 and 1924, and he was also active between 1920 and 1927 as Vice President and from 1927 to 1937 as President of the Catholic Farmers 'Union in Salzburg, which joined the Patriotic Front in August 1934 as the Salzburg Farmers' Union was incorporated. In the state parliament, from 1927 to 1932, Hauthaler also acted as deputy chairman of the Christian Socials. In local politics he was a member of the municipal council of Siezenheim between 1919 and 1924, and in 1920 he was a co-founder of the Salzburg Home Guard. From 1920 to 1924 he also held the office of vice-president of the Salzburg Agricultural Society and from 1924 to 1936 the office of vice-president of the state culture council and from 1936 to 1937 he was the state farmer's leader and vice-president of the Salzburg Chamber of Agriculture.
