Franz Hell

Franz Hell (born December 28, 1899 in Salzburg ; † January 16, 1963 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and secretary of the Chamber of Labor. From 1945 to 1963 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament and president of the state parliament.

education and profession

Hell attended elementary and lower secondary school in Salzburg and then completed a commercial apprenticeship in Salzburg. From 1924 he was employed as secretary of the assistant committee of the Salzburg trade committee and in 1928 became chairman of the German trade and industrial employees' association (DHV) of the Salzburg branch. In 1934 he changed as secretary of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor, but was dismissed from the service of the Chamber of Labor after the National Socialists came to power in 1938. He then worked as an industrial clerk in Salzburg between 1939 and 1945 and was employed again in 1945 by the Chamber of Labor. He was also a member of the four-member council for the liquidation of the German Labor Front and the re-establishment of the Chamber of Labor.

Politics and functions

In the interwar period between November 22, 1934 and March 12, 1938, as a representative of trade and transport, Hell was a member of the state parliament and was sworn in again as a member of the state parliament on December 12, 1945 after the end of the Second World War, and on the same day on President of the state parliament elected. From 1946 to 1948 he was the managing regional party chairman of the ÖVP Salzburg and from 1945 to 1963 he was regional chairman of the Austrian Workers' Union . In the interwar period he also worked from 1933 to 1938 as chairman of the salaried health insurance fund in Salzburg.
