Sebastian Huber (born May 23, 1964 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian politician ( NEOS ). Since June 2018 he has been a member of the Salzburg state parliament , where he acts as second state parliament president.

Life

Sebastian Huber attended the Archbishop's private grammar school Borromäum in Salzburg from 1974 , where he graduated in 1982 . Then he began studying medicine at the University of Vienna , which he in 1989 with the promotion to Doctor of Medicine graduated. During his studies he joined the KAV Norica in the ÖCV in 1982 . In addition, he has been an honorary member of the K.Ö.St.V Almgau Salzburg in the MKV since 2015 . This was followed by training as a specialist in internal medicine in the hospital of the Barmherzigen Brüder in Salzburg. In 1997 he opened his own ordination in the practice of his father, who also worked as a doctor. When he retired in 2002, he took over his ordination. Since 2003 he has been registered as a sworn and court-certified expert for internal medicine .

Since 2007 he has also been a councilor of the Salzburg Medical Association, where he was vice president, finance and PR officer from 2007 to 2012. Until 2017 he was a volunteer fire brigade doctor at the volunteer fire brigade , board member and vice-president of addiction aid and board member of the regional association for mental hygiene .

For NEOS - Das Neue Österreich und Liberales Forum he was a member of the municipal council in the city of Salzburg from 2014 to 2018 , where he also acted as chairman of the municipal council from 2016. In the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , he ran in fourth place on the state list. Lukas Rößlhuber became his successor as chairman of the Salzburg NEOS local council club. On May 27, 2018, Huber was nominated by NEOS for the office of Second President of the State Parliament ; on June 13, 2018, he was sworn in as a member of the Salzburg State Parliament in the constituent state parliament session of the 16th legislative period , and was elected Second State Parliament President with 20 out of 36 votes. Opposing candidate Roland Meisl (SPÖ) received 16 votes.
