Wolfgang Saliger

Wolfgang Saliger (born April 24, 1946 in Seekirchen am Wallersee ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Saliger was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 1991 to 2009 and was third or second president of the state parliament from 2006. In addition, Saliger was a member of the Federal Council between 1989 and 1991 .

education and profession

After attending the academic grammar school in Salzburg , Saliger studied history and philosophy at the University of Salzburg and the University of Vienna . He joined the Alpi company and worked as a trained marketing man in the advertising and marketing sector. He worked there for around 25 years, he was the chairman of the central works council and from 1984 to 1989 he was vice-president of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor and co-initiator of the Salzburg Labor Foundation in 1992/93. Saliger created numerous Austrian brand names such as the whey fruit drink “Lattella”.

Saliger was a community representative in Plainfeld between 1979 and 1988, and between 1989 and 1991 he represented Salzburg and the ÖVP in the Federal Council. He was elected to the Salzburg state parliament in 1991, where he was entrusted as area spokesman for the agendas of traffic, families, employees, central areas, fire services, security and Europe. Within the party, Saliger was district chairman of the Flachgau region between 1992 and 2008 . From April 2004 to October 2006, Wolfgang Saliger was also deputy chairman of the club, and on October 18, 2006 he was elected third president of the Salzburg state parliament. On May 28, 2008 Saliger finally rose to the position of second president of the state parliament. Saliger did not stand in the state elections in 2009 and left the state parliament on April 22, 2009. He had previously announced that he wanted to work as an ombudsman after his political career .
