List of architectural monuments in Aubing

This page lists the monuments in the Munich district of Aubing in the district 22 Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied . There is also a picture collection and a photo album with selected pictures for these monuments . This list is part of the list of architectural monuments in Munich . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first created on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been maintained and updated by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority.

Ensembles

• Aubing town center . On April 16, 1010 for the first time in a document from King Heinrich II . Mentioned by name to Polling Monastery (Weilheim), Aubing is one of the oldest and largest villages in the Munich area. The mostly gable, two-storey farmhouses from the 18th and 19th centuries, grouped along two main streets, Alto and Ubostraße, have recently been modernized and simplified in a way that is alien to the village character. Nevertheless, they embody the basic shape of the historic village in terms of building dimensions and spatial arrangement. (E-1-62-000-5)

Freiham Castle

• Gut Freiham ; 17th century castle in neo-Gothic appearance with 15th century castle chapel and extensive farm buildings, through avenues that become part of the ensemble in the narrower sense of the word, regulating the landscape stately. (E-1-62-000-14)
• The Moosschwaige with its residential building and chapel from the mid-19th century, with its more recent additions to the residential building and the renewed outbuildings, is one of the last vivid testimonies of a formerly common type of economy, for which the isolated location is just as characteristic as the connection via an avenue. Settlement on Gößweinsteinplatz

• Settlement on Gößweinsteinplatz in Munich-Neuaubing. The settlement, which was essentially built by Heimbau-Bayern in 1938/39 for members of the Dornier-Flugzeugwerke, was called Ludwig-Siebert-Siedlung until the end of the Second World War, after which the Bavarian Prime Minister took office when the National Socialists came to power in 1933 who was instrumental in building settlements in Bavaria during the Third Reich. Of thesettlement complex builtaccording to plans by Franz Ruf , which develops in curved streets from Gößweinsteinplatz, only the 406-apartment southern section was realized, the northern area with 400 apartments was no longer implemented. The settlement policy concept at Gößweinsteinplatz is particularly clear, where elements of the village square are mixed with the function of a parade ground. The square is bordered on three sides by a two-story horseshoe building that houses shops and an inn, the fourth flank of the square closes a two-story row of residential buildings. A church in the center is missing; instead, there is a clock tower with a tented roof built in a brief romanized style. A deliberate scarcity also characterizes the architecture of the residential development, which with eight house types from single-family houses to two-storey rows meets different usage requirements, as had already been implemented programmatically in the Ramersdorf model estate. The tightly stretched façades, the sharply cut roofs with minimal roof overhang emphasize the cubature of the building, emphasizing the swaying of the fronts in the longer rows, based on the gentle curves of the street. • Former forced labor camp in Neuaubing . The former forced labor camp with its single-storey saddle roof buildings around a central courtyard forms a coherent urban development group of particular historical importance. It was built in 1942/43 west of the so-called Ludwig-Siebert-Siedlung, which had been built shortly before - in 1938/39 - for employees of the Dornier aircraft works. It is within walking distance of the former Reichsbahn repair shop in Neuaubing. The name of the guard barracks in the site plan and the fencing of the area refer to the use as a forced labor camp, although today it is no longer possible to determine which groups of people were housed here.
