Backdoor pilot
CSI: NY first aired during the second season of the CSI: Miami series. The pilot episode Searching For Clues in New York premiered in the US on May 17, 2004 on CBS . The German-language premiere showed the German Free TV transmitter RTL on May 24 of 2005.

Diane Langston lies dead in the bathtub in her ex-boyfriend's apartment. A neighbor tells investigators that he heard gunshots in the house at the time in question.
