The number one hits on the Irish music charts are determined weekly. The benchmark are the sales figures for singles and albums as sound carriers or downloads and, since 2014, music streaming as well .

Long-running
The single, One Day at a Time , released in 1977 by Irish singer Gloria and her band Mississippi , stayed in the Top 30 for 90 weeks. It is a cover version . The original was interpreted by the American country singer Marilyn Sellars and was released in 1974.
