The oldest parts of Plankenstein Castle, first documented in 1186, are dated to the 12th / 13th centuries. Dated century. The complex consists of four irregular wings that enclose a courtyard. The much older remains of the wall north of the castle could come from a previous building.

Gothic church building on a hilltop with a nave from the end of the 14th century, choir and striking west tower. Inside there is a remarkable early baroque high altar. Surrounded by the cemetery until around 1905.

The building, which is essentially Gothic to the south of the village, was completely redesigned in Baroque style in 1713–1717. The furnishings are all from the early 18th century.
