The Donauuferbahn was built in 1909. When it was built, emphasis was placed on protecting the landscape and for this purpose the painter and monument conservator Rudolf Matthias Pichler was brought in. The 34-kilometer route between Krems and Emmersdorf , which is part of the Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site, is particularly protected .

In the north of Emmersdorf on an uphill slope, high and dominating over the market in the district of Hofamt, St. Nikolaus is a late Gothic , three- bay pillar basilica with a building core that probably dates back to the 14th century and a western tower with a baroque style . The foundations of a previous Romanesque building with a round apse are buried in the area of ​​the central nave.

The building on the eaves has a core from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century. The facade was in the 18./19. Century executed with a plaster frame structure. On the right the house is accessible through a mighty, beveled pointed arch portal from the old core and on the left through a round arched entrance portal. Inside, a vaulted corridor leads to the individual rooms. On the upper floor there is a room with a possibly late medieval barrel vault.

The building consists of two late medieval houses that were joined together in the first half of the 18th century . Its facade is staggered in many parts, including two late Gothic bay windows. This is structured on the ground floor and at the edges by plaster bands, arched window canopies and saddle rack decor. In a niche with a rocailled decoration on the side there is a popular protective mantle Maria as a house blessing statue . At the side are renewed portals in the shape of shoulder arches from the 17th century. The passage hall and a room on the upper floor are vaulted by barrels with lance caps.

The municipal office of Emmersdorf is a two-story, eaves-standing building with a core from the 15th / 16th. Century. The Biedermeier facade with a two-axis, gabled central projectile and plaster banding as well as blind arches on the upper floor dates back to the second quarter of the 19th century. A figure of Mary as intercessor from the 19th century serves as a house blessing statue. A small, late Gothic framed rectangular window from around 1500 can be seen in the service wing. The side corridor is arched by a needle cap barrel and has a coat of arms painting that was probably renewed in the 19th century. On the ground floor there is a wide vaulted cap. On the upper floor there is a hall with a grooved flat ceiling and a curved stucco mirror with a central rosette, which was made at the end of the 17th century and probably added in the 18th century. The establishment includes a statue of Nepomuk.

The chapel hl. In the center of Emmersdorf on the south side of the main square . Maria Magdalena , donated in 1416 by Paul Frey von Freising, damaged in 1809 and restored in 1813, protrudes slightly from the row of houses and is characterized by its multiple staggered front with the staircase and the loggia-like vestibule. It is accessible through a richly barbed, late Gothic pointed arch portal.

The castle complex was built around 1100 as the seat of Ulrich de Gosheime. Later the Gossam rule fell to the Babenbergers , with which the castle lost its function. Now the chapel gained importance as a place of pilgrimage and was expanded several times. Last services were held around 1780. The rescue of the church, which was still under roof, was abandoned around 1900; security measures were only carried out at the Burgkircherl from 1988 onwards.

To the south-east of Grimsing is a path chapel with a triangular gable and lancet lattice. In 1996, during the restoration, remnants of historical paintings from the Baroque period were discovered on the ceiling ( secco technique ) and back wall ( fresco technique ).

Note: The Wegkapelle is actually located south of Grimsing 30 on property no. 801/2.

A path chapel dedicated to Johannes Nepomuk from the first half of the 19th century stands on the thoroughfare of the Seegarten district of Emmersdorf. A wall painting on the gable shows the fall of the bridge of Johannes Nepomuk with a view of Prague, in the chapel there is a figure of the saint.

The rectory north of the church is a massive, two-story two-wing building with a hipped roof, built in 1738, which may have a late medieval core. The facade is structured by pilaster strips and plaster cut decor. The building is accessible through a round arch portal in front of a vaulted passageway. A flat ceiling with a curved stucco decoration can be seen on the upper floor.

The former Rotenhof Castle, located in the Hofamt district on a hill to the west of the parish church, was originally a permanent house that was destroyed in 1402 on the orders of Duke Albrecht IV and later restored as the seat of the prince's guardian. The core of today's two- to three-storey building with eaves dates from the 16th century. In 1883 the castle was completely rebuilt in the form of romantic historicism. It has a four-story tower with four attached corner turrets.

A figure of Saint George created by Edmund Reitter in 1963 rests on a column erected in the first quarter of the 16th century with an octagonal shaft and diamond-shaped notch-cut decoration and a cover plate with crossed frameworks. In the west tower of the branch church there is the original wayside shrine, a fragmented group of figures St. George with the dragon from the 1st quarter of the 16th century.

The branch church of St. Georg is a simple, Romanesque rectangular building with an undivided nave and a flat closed choir. A hatch with a cross-shaped opening can be seen on the east side. On the north side of the nave, an outside staircase leads to the high entrance. The presented west tower was probably in the 13./14. Century erected. It bears a Melk prelate coat of arms in relief .
