The oldest parts of the Zelking castle ruins, a high medieval ring castle, date from the first half of the 13th century. In the second half of the 16th century it was rebuilt like a castle. At the time of the siege of Vienna by the Turks (1683), it served the population as a refuge. A short time later, the lords of the castle moved their residence to Matzleinsdorf and the old castle was increasingly abandoned to decay. At the beginning of the 19th century it was already ruinous.
