The 2791 m² Jewish cemetery with a funeral hall , built in 1894 by the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde , was closed during the Nazi era . About 300  tombstones were sent to a stonemason for recycling . In the 1960s, around 100 preserved tombstones were put up again.

The Cistercians - Abbey in Säusenstein was in 1336 by Eberhard V of Walsee founded. Significant alterations and extensions took place from 1703 onwards. After the abolition of the monastery in 1789, it was used for around 200 years and became increasingly dilapidated. Some parts were demolished. In 1979 the facility came into private hands, was extensively renovated and opened to the public.

The origins of this building go back to the 10th century. Since the fees for the Danube traffic - mainly wine - were collected there, this office was called a wine toll . In the 18th century, still called Ob der Hennsische Landschaft Hauptaufschlagamt , it was repealed by Emperor Joseph II. After that, the house was privately owned ( Baron Tonder's house ), in 1864 it was acquired by the City of Vienna, and in 1909 finally bought by the City of Ybbs.

The western part of the building (House 1) was built between 1720 and 1723 as a cavalry barracks, used as a poor house from 1780 and adapted in the 19th century to care for mentally ill people. The eastern part (house 2), where a Cistercian monastery was located from the 13th century , became the property of the Franciscan nuns in the 17th century , who removed the old building and replaced it with a new one.

Ship masters were wealthy merchants on the Danube. The Ybbser Matthias Feldmüller, as the most important ship master in history, commanded a fleet of over 1000 ships from here. The core of the former ship master's house dates from the 15th and 16th centuries; the third floor was not added until after 1868.
