This list of Turkish envoys in the United Kingdom includes envoys and ambassadors since 1793.
The Turkish Embassy in London is located at 43 Belgrave Square, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea .
history
Already Murad III. exchanged letters with Elisabeth I in 1579. The first ministerial resident at the Sublime Gate of Istanbul was William Harborne in 1583 . The trade treaties with the Ottoman Empire were laid down in capitulations by the Sultan .
Events
In July 1867, Sultan Abdülaziz was on a state visit to London.
On August 1, 1950, the Turkish government applied for membership in NATO in London . According to the Turkish Embassy in London, the plane of Adnan Menderes , who was executed by the military, crashed near London on February 17, 1959. Cevdet Sunay was on a state visit to London from November 1st to 8th, 1967. Kenan Evren was on a state visit in London from November 12th to 15th, 1987. On July 12, 1991, the Kurdistan Workers' Party protested in front of the embassy.
