This list includes castles , fortresses and palaces in the Turkish province of Istanbul .

Buildings in other provinces of Turkey are included in the list of castles and fortresses in Turkey .

The list includes city fortifications, fortified individual buildings and building complexes. Also listed - fortified or unfortified - rulers' seats as well as residences of members of the government, princes and other high-ranking personalities.
