This is a list of Friday mosques . Friday mosques ( Arabic مسجد جامع masjid dschāmiʿ , DMG masǧid ǧāmiʿ ; Persian مسجد جامع, DMG masǧed-e ǧāmeʾ ) - large, central or main mosques of a country, a city or a district - are mosques in which Muslims perform the Friday prayer , the most important of the week, together. There are many different spellings for the Arabic word dschāmi etwa or ǧāmi etwa (for example: “the place that unites the Muslims”; “a mosque with a Friday sermon”), such as Jame , Jami , Jameh , Jamia , Jomeh or Dschami .
