Louis Barillet

Louis Barillet (born February 13, 1880 in Alençon , † December 11, 1948 in Clamart ) was a French painter , medalist and glass painter .

Louis Barillet studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris with the painter Jean-Léon Gérôme . Then he worked as a medalist. In 1919 he started his own glass painting workshop in Paris. He worked with Jacques Le Chevallier and later with Théodore-Gérard Hanssen (1885–1957). Louis Barillet was a member of the Union des Artistes Modernes , which was founded in 1929 by the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens and existed until 1958. According to the plans of Robert Mallet-Stevens, the studio and house of Louis Barillet (No. 15 square de Vergennes) was built in the 15th arrondissement of Paris in 1931/32 .
