history
On August 7, 1850, part of the territory of Épinay-sur-Seine was united with part of the area of Deuil-la-Barre , part of the area of Saint-Gratien and part of the Soisy-sous-Montmorency area , from which the Enghien-les-Bains commune was born.
Since around 1960, the population of the community has increased sharply due to the construction of high-rise buildings in panel construction and the social structure has changed fundamentally. Like many suburbs of Paris, the municipality also has a high proportion of immigrants (around 40%), especially from the Maghreb , Turkey and sub-Saharan Africa .
