Ludwig Timon Moritz von Werder (born July 29, 1780 in Halle (Saale) , † March 24, 1852 ibid) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were Friedrich Moritz Ludwig von Werder (1746–1784) and his wife Juliane Agnes, née von Rauchhaupt (1755–1784). His father was a Prussian captain and company commander in the "Anhalt-Bernburg" infantry regiment .

Life

Since his parents died early of nerve fever , Werder first came to his grandfather Marquard Ludwig von Werder (1716–1788) and, after his death, to his uncle, the chief customs director Johann Karl von Werder (1751–1808). Werder was initially taught by private tutors and from September 1793 attended the knight academy in Brandenburg an der Havel . In 1794 he joined the cuirassier regiment "von Quitzow" of the Prussian army as a standard junker and was promoted to secondary lieutenant until July 1799 . As such, he took part in the Battle of Auerstedt and the battle near Waren during the Fourth Coalition War and was made inactive after the Battle of Lübeck . After the Peace of Tilsit he resigned on November 14, 1808 as Prime Lieutenant wearing the old army uniform.

On March 7, 1810, Werder received permission to accept the position of chamberlain with the Duke of Anhalt-Köthen . In 1813 he went as a volunteer in the Jäger detachement of the Neumärk Dragoon Regiment . On February 13, 1814 he was charged with patent from January 14, 1814 Staff Captain of the Gendarmerie , rising to June 1815 captain and district officer of the gendarmerie between Elbe and Weser on.

On December 30, 1820 Werder was transferred to the 4th Gendarmerie Brigade as a department commander and promoted to major on March 30, 1831 with a patent from April 3, 1831 . On March 16, 1839 he was appointed brigadier of the 2nd Gendarmerie Brigade and on October 19, 1841 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . In this position Werder received the Order of the Red Eagle III in mid-November 1843 . Class with a bow and advanced to colonel at the end of March 1844 . On September 16, 1845, he was awarded the Order of St. John and on November 15, 1845 took Werder under award of the character as a major general his farewell to board . He died on March 24, 1852 in Halle (Saale).

Werder married Wilhelmine Karoline Sophie Friederike von Rauchhaupt (1787-1857) in Trebnitz on October 27, 1809. The couple had several children:
