Ludwig von Wedemeyer (born September 12, 1819 in Langhagen , Mecklenburg ; † November 22, 1875 in Schönrade , Neumark ) was a German lawyer, manor owner and politician.

Life

Wilhelm Ludwig von Wedemeyer visited the Katharineum in Lübeck . After high school he studied at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin and the Georg-August-University of Goettingen jurisprudence . In Göttingen he became active in the Corps Lunaburgia in 1843 . In 1844 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . After completing an agricultural education, he devoted himself to managing his estates from 1847 onwards . He was the heir to the goods in Schönrade and Fichtwerder in the Friedeberg Nm district. , of the Anrode estate near Mühlhausen / Thuringiaas well as the Lower Gut Eldagsen near Springe . In 1864 he also acquired the Woynitz estate in the Schmiegel district and in 1874 the Hohen Wartenberg estate in the Königsberg Nm district. He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John and a well-known breeder of the Mecklenburg warmblood . From 1866 to 1867 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1867 to 1870 he was also a member of the constituency of Frankfurt 1 ( Arnswalde , Friedeberg ) in the Reichstag of the North German Confederation . In this capacity he was also a member of the Customs Parliament . He belonged to the Conservative Party . Embroiled in an intrigue against Otto von Bismarck , he committed suicide.
