Luke Matthew Daniels (born January 5, 1988 in Bolton ) is an English football player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with the English second division club Brentford since May 2017 .
Career
society
Daniels learned to play football at the English top club Manchester United . There he played between 1997 and 2004 for the club's youth teams. For the 2004/05 season, the goalkeeper moved to the youth department of West Bromwich Albion , where he was finally included in the professional squad in the summer of 2006. Daniel's match practice should be acquired through the reserve team. With Luke Steele , the club signed another young goalkeeper, with whom Daniels should compete. On January 25, 2008, the club officials decided to lend the young Englishman to the Scottish Premier League at Motherwell FC . On May 3, he made his professional debut against Celtic Glasgow . In the summer he returned to the Baggies . With the start of the season, Daniels was loaned to Shrewsbury Town . Since with Scott Carson an experienced goalkeeper was committed at the same time, tried to get Daniels more match practice in a lower division through this loan deal. At Shrewsbury he fights with Glyn Garner and Scott Bevan for the place in goal. Eventually he prevailed against both and was the Lions' regular goalkeeper during the 2008-09 season . With Shrewsbury he finally made it into the finals of the play-off games for promotion. He played a big part when he saved three shots from the opponent on penalties in the semi-final second leg against FC Bury and thus paved the way for his team. The following season he preferred a renewed loan deal with Shrewsbury. But it didn't come to that. The goalkeeper's new loan club were the Tranmere Rovers in Football League One for the entire 2009/10 season . There he became a regular goalkeeper and helped the team to close relegation. With the new season Daniels joined Charlton Athletic in a month-long loan deal . In the same calendar year, the goalkeeper was briefly loaned to the AFC Rochdale . In January of the following year, Daniels wore the Bristol Rovers jersey for five months . There he succeeded Mikkel Andersen . However, his return and his stay at West Bromwich lasted only briefly. In October 2011 he was loaned to Southend United who were looking for a replacement for goalkeeper Glenn Morris .
National team
Thanks to his good performance in the West Bromwich reserve team, Daniels has been appointed to the English junior national team several times.
