Marco Tasca OFMConv (born June 9, 1957 in Sant'Angelo di Piove di Sacco , Province of Padua ) is an Italian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Genoa .

Life

Marco Tasca joined the Order of the Minorites on September 29, 1968 and attended the Order's own Minor Seminars in Camposampiero , Pedavena and Brescia . After graduating from school, he completed the novitiate from 1976 to 1977 and made temporary profession on September 17, 1977 . From 1977 to 1982 Tasca studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Istituto Teologico Sant'Antonio Dottore in Padua . On November 28, 1981, he made solemn profession in the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua. Marco Tasca received on 19 March 1983 in Sant'Angelo di Piove di Sacco by the Bishop of Padua , Filippo Franceschi , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination, Marco Tasca continued his studies in Rome , where he graduated from the Pontifical University of the Salesians in 1986 with a degree in psychology and in 1988 in pastoral theology . During this time he worked as a pastor in the parish of San Giuseppe da Copertino in Rome. From 1988 to 1994 Tasca led the Minorite Minorite Seminary in Brescia. In 1994 he became the reign of the seminary of the Italian religious province of Sant'Antonio di Padova of the Minorites. Marco Tasca also taught psychology and pastoral theology at the Istituto Teologico Sant'Antonio Dottore and at the seminary in Padua. In 2001 Tasca became Guardian of the Convent in Camposampiero, before he was elected Minister Provincial of the Italian Province of Sant'Antonio di Padova of the Minorites in 2007.

From 2007 to 2019 Marco Tasca was Minister General of the Minorites. In addition, from 2013 he was President of the Legal Commission of the Italian Superior Conference. Tasca was also President of the Conference of Franciscan General Ministers and the Franciscan Family several times. Marco Tasca participated in the Synods of Bishops in 2012 on the new evangelization , in 2015 on the family and in 2018 on youth.

On May 8, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Genoa. The retired Archbishop of Genoa, Angelo Cardinal Bagnasco , donated him episcopal ordination on July 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the emeritus Bishop of Treviso , Gianfranco Gardin OFMConv, and the emeritus Regent of the Apostolic Penitentiary , Curia Bishop Gianfranco Girotti OFMConv.
