Markus Vette

Markus Vette (born October 25, 1956 in Weißwasser / Oberlausitz ) is a German physicist , politician ( CDU , independent) and political scientist . From 1990 to 1999 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament and is now active as a local writer and publisher.

Life and work

Vette, who comes from Upper Lusatia , attended the Extended High School (EOS) in Weißwasser. After graduating from high school, he did military service in the National People's Army (NVA) from 1975 to 1978 . In 1976 he became a skilled worker for electronics .

From 1978 to 1983 he studied physics at the Humboldt University in Berlin (graduate physicist 1983). From 1983 to 1985 he studied research at the engineering college (IHS) in Berlin-Wartenberg . In 1986, at the Berlin Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the GDR, he received his doctorate A ( on the investigation of mechanical-dynamic properties of potatoes by sound measurements ) as Dr. rer. nat. Then he was working group leader for measurement electronics at the Max Eyth Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Technology in Potsdam-Bornim .

In 1996, after completing his doctoral studies at the Department of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin, he received his dissertation on the structure and assumption of political responsibility in representative parliamentary democracy. Experiences and conclusions from the work of the 1st Brandenburg State Parliament on Dr. phil. PhD.

Initially a professor at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau in the business, computer science and law department, in 2005 he represented the professorship in Political Science at the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences in Cottbus and then worked on a secondment (social policy and political science) at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences . Procedural errors should - despite the successful appointment procedure - prevent an appointment as professor in Wildau. Furthermore he was u. a. Lecturer at the University of Potsdam and the Free University of Berlin.

As chairman of the Rastenberg Heimatverein, he wrote 12 books in the series from 2009 to 2015. Today he works in the Brandenburg State Archives in Potsdam on administrative history topics and runs the Eugenia Verlag in Töplitz (district of Werder (Havel) ) with regional history publications that are regularly recorded in the directory of available books (VlB).

Markus Vette is the father of two adult children.

In 1986 he joined the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in the GDR . In 1990 he became chairman of the local association and from March to November 1990 a member of the state board of the CDU Brandenburg . After the political change, Vette was a permanent guest of the basic program commission and member of the federal committee for research and technology of the CDU.

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 1990 , he was elected to the Brandenburg state parliament via the state list of the CDU Brandenburg , which he also belonged to after the state elections from 1994 to 1999. He was deputy chairman of the main committee and in the following electoral term of the committee for science, research and culture, as well as a member of the parliamentary Stolpe investigation committee. At the end of the first electoral term in 1994 he took over the management of the parliamentary group. With Carola Hartfelder and Frank Werner he was one of the critics of the CDU parliamentary group leader Peter Wagner .

From 1998 to 2011 he was a member of the municipal council in Töplitz , as a non-party member of parliament.

During the entire existence of the Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB) in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 1991 to 2003 he was chairman of the broadcaster's board of directors and was part of the small commission of ARD chairmen. Furthermore, he was u. a.
