Career
Bartek began his professional career at HKm Zvolen , where he played for the first team in the Slovakian Extra League for the first time in the 1997/98 season . Until 1999, the winger was under contract in Zvolen and played in the meantime in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League after he was selected in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft in 202nd place in the eighth round of the Nashville Predators . However, Bartek never got to play in the National Hockey League .
In 1999, the left-shooter moved again to North America, where he completed a successful season after another season in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats , for the New Orleans Brass in the East Coast Hockey League . The Predators then used the Slovaks on their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League and later in the American Hockey League . In the 2002/03 season, Bartek played for a total of four clubs in the Czech Extraliga and the ECHL. After this difficult season for Bartek, he went back to his homeland again. In his return season at HKm Zvolen, the attacker was Slovak runner-up and top scorer in the Extraliga with 74 points .
In the 2004/05 season Bartek first played for Rauman Lukko in the Finnish SM-liiga , then he was on the ice for HC Slovan Bratislava . In the following season, the Slovak first earned his money at Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the Russian Super League , before he gave another guest appearance at HKm Zvolen for 17 games at the end of the season.
In 2006 Bartek moved to Germany for the first time, where he signed a contract with Duisburger Füchsen , but before the end of the season he left the city again and switched to the second-rate Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan at Leksands IF . In August 2006 the striker was appointed to the Slovak national team for the first time .
The Slovakian signed a contract with the second division club Moskitos Essen for the 2007/08 season , where he was top scorer and player of the year in the second division. After the insolvency of Moskitos Essen, Bartek signed a two-year contract with the Kassel Huskies in summer 2008 , for which he will be on the ice in the German Ice Hockey League in the 2008/09 season . For the 2009/10 season Martin Bartek moved to the Kölner Haien , where he had signed a two-year contract. The contract was terminated in July 2010 and Bartek was signed by HC Pardubice . In 2012 he became Czech champions with the club . After his contract expired after the 2012/13 season, Bartek moved within the Extraliga to the Bílí Tygři Liberec , where he received a three-year contract.
Between October 2016 and the end of the 2016/17 season, Bartek was under contract with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau from the DEL2 .
