Life

Martin Leyer-Pritzkow grew up in Düsseldorf for the first few years. Influenced by his grandfather, who took him to many modern exhibitions as a child , his interest in art developed. At the grammar school in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim he received art lessons from Konrad Fischer (pseudonym: Konrad Lueg) and Gerhard Richter . In 1972 Leyer-Pritzkow changed schools and graduated from high school in Bonn.

After studying economics at the Universities of Regensburg and Cologne , he began his professional career in 1983 as a marketing manager at Diners Club Germany. In 1989 he became director of marketing and sales at what was then a subsidiary of Schweizer Rück Versicherung and Dr. Harald Quandt Holding. After further positions as managing partner of a marketing company in Munich and advisor to a French management consultancy in Lyon , he started his own business as a freelance curator in Düsseldorf in 1996. From 1999 to 2008 Leyer-Pritzkow had a teaching position at the Accademia di belle arti di Venezia

Martin Leyer-Pritzkow realizes self-designed exhibitions of contemporary art at home and abroad. He mediates contemporary art and looks after life's work. He gives lectures and interviews on the subject of the quality of contemporary art, collecting strategies for contemporary art, and developments on the art market.
