Career
Marty McInnis began his career as a hockey player in the team of Boston College , for which he was active from 1988 to 1991 and with which he won the championship of Hockey East in the 1989/90 season. As a high school player, he was selected in the eighth round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 163 players by the New York Islanders . First, however, the winger prepared with Team USA for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville before making his National Hockey League debut for the New York Islanders towards the end of the 1991/92 season . In these he had a regular place in the following five years, where he also played ten games for their farm team , the Capital District Islanders from the American Hockey League , in the 1992/93 season .
On March 18, 1997 McInnis was given together with Tyrone Garner and a six- round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 1997 in exchange for Robert Reichel to the Calgary Flames . With these he was under contract for a year and a half before he was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks on October 27, 1998 and on the same day to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . The American ran for the Californians for a total of four years. It was then given to the Boston Bruins just before the end of the trade deadline in the 2001/02 season . In the city where his career began, the 1992 Olympian finished it again after the 2002/03 season at the age of 33.
