Hisatoshi Shintaku

Hisatoshi Shintaku ( Japanese 新 宅 永 灯 至 , Shintaku Hisatoshi, real name: Masanari Shintaku ( 新 宅 雅 也 , Shintaku Masanari ); * December 20, 1957 in Mihara ) is a former Japanese long-distance and obstacle runner .

Over 3000 m obstacle he finished sixth at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf in 1977 and won silver at the Pacific Conference Games . In 1978 he won the Asian Games in Bangkok . In 1979 a victory at the Asian Athletics Championships was followed by a fifth place at the World Athletics Cup in Montreal . In 1981 he defended his title at the Asian Championships and came third at the World Athletics Cup in Rome .

At the Asian Games in New Delhi in 1982 he won the 5000 m , and at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles he came in 16 th place over 10,000 m .

In 1985 he finished third in the Tokyo International Men's Marathon and was Japanese marathon champion with a win at the Fukuoka Marathon . At the Asian Games in Seoul in 1986 , he won over 10,000 m and won silver over 5,000 m.

With a second place in the Fukuoka Marathon in 1987, he qualified for the marathon of the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, in which he finished in 17th place.

In 1990 he won the Japanese Company Championships in the half marathon . He then finished fourth in the Rotterdam Marathon , second in the half marathon competition of the Gold Coast Marathon and eighth in the Berlin Marathon . In 1991 he won the Sendai half marathon .

He was five times Japanese champion over 3000 m obstacle (1977-1980, 1983), four times over 5000 m (1980-1983) and three times over 10,000 m (1981, 1984, 1986).
