The Mayenne is an approx. 203 km long river in the Normandy and Pays de la Loire regions in north-western France .

The Mayenne rises in the municipality of Lalacelle in the hills of southern Normandy. From there it first runs a short distance in a northerly direction, then to the west and finally to take a predominantly southern direction. After a length of around 203 km it forms shortly before Angers , together with the Sarthe , the Maine , which flows into the Loire after a few kilometers .
