history
On the occasion of the first anniversary of German unity , PSV Meiningen launched an international running event as a city run. From the beginning, the distances were half marathon , ten kilometers for adults and three and five kilometers for young people. There is also a fun run for everyone. One hour before the start of the main run, a children's run is organized by the Meiningen primary schools. The half marathon has not been held since 2012. From 2013 to 2015, the Meininger company run over 5 km was part of the City Run. In 2014 and 2015, the Thuringian Road Run Championship took place as part of the City Run. On this occasion, the running route was re-measured. In 2015 the city run was integrated into the world culture week "Refugees welcome".
