Michael Gempart

Michael Gempart (born April 21, 1941 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss actor .

Life

After secondary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk and obtained a commercial diploma. Gempart then studied at the Zurich Acting Academy and graduated with honors. He also underwent dance training and took singing lessons ( baritone ). He trained as an actor with Susan Batson in New York .

He spent his early days as a theater actor at the Theater Basel , then he played at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and until 1972 at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich . In 1975 he appeared at the Mozarteum in Salzburg as Gagler in Orff's Astutuli , in 1977 at the Ruhr Festival in Coriolan and in 1979 as Fazz in Ken Campbell's Die Schlündelgründler at the Münchner Kammerspiele - Theater der Jugend. In 1981 he played Lucky in Waiting for Godot at the Zurich Theater . At the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg he was seen in 1982 as Kreon in Jahnn's Medea .

Since 1982 he has been a freelance actor. He performed at the Salzburg Festival and at the Volksbühne on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin . From 2004 he briefly joined the ensemble of the Burgtheater in Vienna . In 2013 he played Lohengrin in Paulus Manker's Wagnerdämmerung in Vienna , a project for Richard Wagner's 200th birthday .
