Michael Shelley (born October 10, 1983 in Southport , Queensland ) is an Australian long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .

At the World Cross Country Championships in Brussels in 2004 , he finished 103rd on the short distance. In 2007 in Mombasa he came in 65th place.

In 2008, a 50th place at the Cross Country World Championships in Edinburgh was followed by a victory in the half marathon competition of the Gold Coast Marathon and 16th place at the World Half Marathon Championships in Rio de Janeiro . The following year he came in 36th place at the Cross Country World Championships in Amman and came second in the Gold Coast half marathon.

In 2010 he finished twelfth in the Rotterdam Marathon and won silver in the Commonwealth Games marathon in New Delhi . In 2011 he was tenth in the London Marathon and eleventh in the Amsterdam Marathon . The following year he was tenth in the New York City Half Marathon and ran in the marathon of the Olympic Games in London in 16th place.

In 2013 he was sixth in the Beppu-Ōita Marathon and twelfth in the Chicago Marathon . In 2014 he finished tenth in the Lisbon Half Marathon , won the Commonwealth Games marathon in Glasgow and finished fifth in the Great Scottish Run .

In 2015 he finished twelfth in the London Marathon.

In 2012 he was the Australian champion in the 10 km road race .
