Midland Mainline was a British railway company owned by the National Express Group and operated primarily passenger services on the Midland Main Line , one of the main routes in the north-south direction.
history
The company was formed after British Rail was privatized in 1996. When the concession expired in November 2007, the Midland Mainline became part of the East Midlands concession. The Scottish Stagecoach , which already operates South West Trains , emerged as the winner of the tender . The successor company is East Midlands Trains .
Route network
The company operated intercity and regional trains between London and Yorkshire , using St Pancras station as the southern terminus. Most recently, the trains stopped there at temporary platforms due to the extensive renovation work to make the station a terminus for High Speed 1.
