Govia Thameslink Railway operates the Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern franchise from September 14, 2014 to 2021 . Operations initially began on the lines of the former Thameslink and Great Northern franchise operated by First Capital Connect . On July 26, 2015, Govia Thameslink Railway took over operations on the Southern lines and the Gatwick Express, which were previously operated by a subsidiary of Govia.
