London Midland is the brand name of the former British railway company London and Birmingham Railway Ltd and a subsidiary of Govia , a joint venture between Go-Ahead and Keolis . It was part of the National Rail network and took over numerous routes from its predecessors Silverlink and Central Trains from November 2007 . After a lost tender, West Midlands Trains (consortium of Abellio , JR East , Mitsui ) took over operations under the brands London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway on December 10, 2017 .

The London Midland fleet last consisted of several dozen regional train sets of different series, including the British classes 153 , 170 , 323 and 350 .

Route network
The central English metropolis of Birmingham in the Midlands was the center of the approximately 150 railway stations in the London Midland network . In addition to numerous regional destinations, the company also operated on the West Coast Main Line to London Euston (hence the name) and Liverpool Lime Street .
