Mikel Oyarzabal Ugarte (born April 21, 1997 in Eibar ) is a Spanish football player . The left winger is under contract with Real Sociedad San Sebastián and is a senior international .
Career
society
Oyarzabal moved from SD Eibar to the youth of Real Sociedad San Sebastián . For the B team, he came from the 2014/15 season in the third-class Segunda División B and played 13 games within one year, in which he scored 3 goals. He made his debut for the professionals in the Primera División on October 25, 2015 in a 4-0 away win against UD Levante . Oyarzabal scored his first goal on February 8, 2016 in a 5-0 win at Espanyol Barcelona . In total, he scored 6 times in 22 appearances in his first season in the league. In the 2016/17 season , Oyarzabal became a regular player and played in each of the 38 league games; with his team he qualified sixth in the table for the group stage of the Europa League . There he came to 6 missions in the following season until he was eliminated in the sixteenth finals . In the Primera División, Oyarzabal became a long-runner and has only missed four games since the beginning of the 2017/18 season , he also developed into a good goalscorer and had double-digit goalscoring in 2017/18 and 2018/19.
National team
Oyarzabal played twice for the Spanish U18 national team in 2015 and was featured for the first time in the U19 team on January 20, 2016 in the 2-1 loss to Italy , for which he was on the field four times. In June 2017 he took part in the U21 European Championship in Poland with the U21 national team and became Vice European Champion with his team. Two years later he played with the team again at the U21 European Championship and won the title as a regular in Italy . In total, he completed 25 games for the selection and scored 8 goals.
On May 29, 2016, Oyarzabal made his debut in a 3-1 win in the friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the senior national team . In his first competitive game on June 10, 2019 in the European Championship qualification against Sweden , he scored his first A international goal with the goal to make it 3-0.
On August 30, 2020, it was announced that he would not be participating in the Nations League game against Germany on September 3, 2020 because he was infected with COVID-19 .
