Ander Guevara Lajo (born July 7, 1997 in Vitoria-Gasteiz ) is a Spanish football player who is under contract with the first division club Real Sociedad .

Career

Ander Guevara, who was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz , started playing football at the local club Deportivo Alavés and in 2012 moved to the youth department of Real Sociedad from Donostia-San Sebastián . After playing for Real Sociedad C in the fourth-rate Tercera División , he made his debut for the reserve team Real Sociedad B in the third-highest Spanish on October 1, 2016 (7th matchday) in a 2-1 home defeat against CF Fuenlabrada League when he came on in the 60th minute for Iker Olaizola . In the 2016/17 season he played 13 league games for the reserve. On June 17, 2017, he signed a three-year contract and was finally promoted to the B-team.

He became an undisputed regular in the reserve in the 2017/18 season. On October 26, 2017, he made his debut in the first selection when he was substituted on in the 72nd minute of the 1-0 away win against Lleida Esportiu in the 2017/18 Copa del Rey . This was his only appearance in the men's team that season, while he came to 34 appearances in the B-team. In the next season 2018/19 he took over the captain's armband for the reserve. On November 24, 2018, he scored his first goal in the 3-2 home defeat to Real Oviedo B. He made his league debut on March 15, 2019 (28th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against the UD Levante , when he was on the pitch for the full distance of the game. A few days later he tore a muscle fiber and had to take a two-month break. During this season he played 26 league games for the B team, in which he scored a goal.

On June 7, 2019, Ander Guevara signed a new five-year contract with the Txuri-urdinak and was promoted to the first team. He established himself as a rotation player and entered the starting line-up of head coach Imanol Alguacil in December 2019 . In the second half of the season, however, he missed numerous league games due to an ankle injury and ended the season with 14 league appearances.
