history

2NE1 2011

In January 2009 it was announced that the record company YG Entertainment will be launching a new girl group in July, in the same style as Big Bang , with three members: CL , Park Bom and Minzy . However, a record company spokesman later announced that Dara would join the group.

Eventually the first song by 2NE1 (together with Big Bang) called "Lollipop" was released on March 27, 2009. With this song LG advertised their new Cyon cell phone. The song reached first place in several online charts and was number 1 in the online charts of the TV station M.Net for four weeks in a row.

The single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009 in two different versions ("Space" and "Street" version). The videos received more than a million views in one day. On the day it was released, 2NE1's first mini-album sold over 50,000 copies.

The group received three Cyworld Digital Music Awards for “Lollipop” and “Fire” as “Song of the Month” and also received the “Rookie of the Month” award in May 2009. The 2NE1 singers also model for Fila .

On April 4, 2016, YG Entertainment announced that Minzy was leaving the band. Minzy announced on Instagram that she would now aim for a solo career and promised to come back soon.

For a long time, fans have speculated about a possible breakup of the band. On November 25th, YG Entertainment officially announced its final termination. While CL and Dara each signed a solo contract, Park Bom has not renewed their previous contract.

On January 21, 2017 her farewell single Goodbye (Korean: 안녕) was released.
