The municipality of Apolo is a district in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes -State Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality Apolo is one of two municipalities in the province of Franz Tamayo and is located in the eastern part of the province. It is bordered to the west by the Republic of Peru , on the southwest by the municipality Pelechuco and the Bautista Saavedra Province , on the south by the Larecaja Province , in the southeast of the province of Sud Yungas , to the east by the department of Beni , and to the north by the province Abel Iturralde .
The municipality has 86 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Apolo with 6,376 inhabitants in the central western part of the district. ( 2012 census )
geography
The Municipio Apolo is located in the northern part of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , in the transition area to the Bolivian lowlands.
The region has a very balanced climate in terms of temperature, the average temperature is 20.4 ° C (see climate diagram Apolo), the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly between 21 ° C from October to March and almost 19 ° C in June and July.
