Mutiny on the Bounty (abbreviated MOTB ) is a Luxembourgish rock band from Esch / Alzette .

history

Mutiny on the Bounty was founded in April 2004 by Nicolas Prezor and Sacha Schmitz. Their first release was a split album in 2005 with the band Treasure Chest at the End of the Rainbow, also from Luxembourg, in which Sacha Schmitz was also active. At that time the band consisted of David Moreira (also singer of Eternal Tango ), Luciano Lippis and the two founding members. This split album was licensed by the Canadian record company New Romance for Kids for Canada , USA and Japan . In 2007 Moreira left the group and Claudio Pianini joined them as bassist.

After that, Mutiny on the Bounty toured Europe and shared the stage with 65 Days of Static , Coheed and Cambria , These Arms Are Snakes , Akimbo , Russian Circles , Portugal, among others . The Man , Red Sparowes , 31 Knots and Fear Before the March of Flames .

Nevertheless, the band continued to work on songs for their debut album. Each band member provided different song fragments, which were then edited together. This is how songs were created that contain various influences, but can still be seen as the work of a band. It took ten months for the songs to be ready to be recorded. After almost two years of preparation, they then stood in Philippe Matgé's studio to record their debut album Danger Mouth . The album was then mastered by Alan Douches in the West West Side Studios in New York City . Danger Mouth was released in 2009 by Redfield Records in Germany and Big Scary Monsters Records in England .

Other international concerts followed, including the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin Texas .

In August 2011, Pianini and Lippis were replaced by Cedric Czaika and Clement Delporte. Also in 2011 they appeared in Govinda Van Maele's documentary We Might as Well Fail .

Mutiny on the Bounty's second album Trials was recorded within a month in Seattle in the Red Room Recording Studio by the famous American producer Matt Bayles . The band sent Bayles a link with a couple of their songs and after meeting them during their gig in Austin they convinced him to record their new album. The band financed the production through crowdfunding, among other things . Trials was released in 2011 by Redfield Records in Germany and Best Before Records in England .

On May 4, 2012, the album's release party was in Den Atelier in Luxembourg City . Mutiny on the Bounty was supported by the Luxembourg bands Heartbeat Parade and Mount Stealth. A music video for the single Artifacts was released in April, and a music video was shot for the song Myanmar in February 2013. Another video for Mapping the Universe was released in early 2014 .

The third album Digital Tropics was recorded with producer Jan Kerscher in the Ghost City Recordings Studios near Nuremberg . The pieces were also mixed by Jan Kerscher, who has also made various mixes for the well-known American producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, The Blood Brothers, The Cure, Glassjaw, Team Sleep, Norma Jean). The first single on the album is called MKL JKSN and was released with the accompanying music video on March 2, 2015 by Visions-Magazin in Germany and by 7BitArcade in England. Telekinesis, the second single from the new album, was released on April 3rd exclusively through the Clash Magazine website. The release show for the third album was on April 17th in the Kufa in Esch an der Alzette. The album was released on CD on the same day and on May 22, 2015 on record on Redfield Records (DE) and Deaf Rock Records (FR). In the UK, Digital Tropics was released simultaneously on CD and vinyl on May 26th through their new record label Small Pond Records (UK).

The music video for the third single dance Automaton dance was released on June 17, 2015 on Youtube.

On July 17th, 2015, Digital Tropics was released in Japan through the Friend of Mine Records label. The Japanese version of the album appears as a digisleeve with a new design, the bonus track Bleak Future and a remix of the song Ecliptic which was remixed by Sun Glitters .
