NGC 6972 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Dolphin in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 210 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on August 15, 1863 .
