NGC 6975 = NGC 6976 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble-type Sbc in the constellation Aquarius on the celestial equator . It is an estimated 272 million light years from the Milky Way .

The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 12, 1864 .
